Market Update - A Local Perspective

New Castle County, DE

New Castle County  experienced a 11.7% increase in the number of sold homes for the first half of 2017 compared to 2016 and a 0.9% increase in the median sales price from $215,000 to $217,000. The number of homes that went under contract in the first 6 months of 2017 increased 12.3% from 2016.

Kent County, DE

For the first 6 months of 2017, Kent County experienced a 16.9% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2016 and a 0.3% decrease in the median sales price from $199,000 to $198,500. The number of homes that went under contract in the first half of 2017 increased 17.5% from 2016.

Sussex County, DE

For the first half of 2017, Sussex County experienced a 20.5% increase in the number of sold homes compared to 2016 and a 3.5% increase in the median sales price from $248,200 to $257,000. The number of homes that went under contract in the first 6 months of 2017 increased 25.1% from 2016.

Southern Chester County, PA

Southern Chester County  experienced a 4.3% increase in the number of sold homes in the first 6 months of 2017 compared to 2016 and a 7.3% increase in the median price of sold homes, from $336,500 to $361,000. The number of homes that went under contract in the first half of 2017 increased 2.8% from 2016.

Cecil County, MD

For the first half of 2017, Cecil County experienced a 0.8% decrease in the number of sold homes compared to 2016 and an increase in the median sales price of 10.3%; from $195,000 to $215,000. The number of homes that went under contract in the first 6 months of 2017 increased 2.5% from 2016.
